At MBS, we believe in the power of the arts to stimulate creative thinking, resourceful problem solving, collaboration and teamwork, aesthetic appreciation, and openness to new ideas.
The arts also have the power to deepen academic learning, creating meaningful connections to history, literature, and the world around us. Across both the Middle and Upper Schools, MBS offers a wide range of opportunities that go beyond learning to sing, dance, draw, or paint. Through the arts, students are encouraged to explore ideas, express themselves, reflect, collaborate, and engage with their community in meaningful ways.
An Extraordinary Range of Opportunity
MBS gives students countless opportunities to explore the arts, collaborate with faculty members who are accomplished performers and artists themselves, and pursue creative work in state-of-the-art spaces equipped with professional technology.
The range of offerings is extraordinary. Students can:
- Pursue Studio Art through the AP level.
- Explore digital graphic design, photography, music production, and other forms of visual and media arts.
- Experiment with special effects and bring original films to life.
- Take the stage in spectacular musicals, explore theater technology, and study instrumental or vocal music and a variety of dance forms.
- Perform with the Jazz Band or Strings Ensemble.
- And discover even more ways to create, perform, collaborate, and grow throughout their MBS experience.
Whatever their choice, student artists not only experience the thrill of creative self-expression, but also develop discipline, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
