Academic

Spanish Teacher: Full Time
Seeking a full-time Spanish teacher for fall 2019. Candidates must embrace a student-centered, skills-based pedagogy and possess strong collaborative skills. The successful candidate will be able to use language study as a springboard for higher-level critical and creative thinking and will embrace the use of new technologies as a tool for learning. Must be able to teach at any level of the language sequence, including Middle School, and be familiar with the emerging “Mastery” model of language instruction which is replacing the traditional, numerically sequenced structure. Degree and teaching experience required; advanced degree and a background in linguistics a plus; strong writing skills, including the ability to integrate academic writing into the language curriculum, a strong plus. Four course load divided between Upper and Middle School classes; salary commensurate with education and experience. Middle School Social Studies: Leave Replacement
Seeking a leave replacement to run from September 1 through December 1, 2019.  Primary responsibility will be to teach four sections of 8th grade social studies. Candidates must embrace a student-centered, skills-based pedagogy, heavily reliant on the use of writing as a tool of learning, and possess strong collaborative skills. Degree in an appropriate field as well as teaching experience, preferably at the Middle School level required; advanced degree a plus. Salary commensurate with degree and experience. Upper School History: Full Time
Seeking a full-time History teacher for the Upper School who can teach in a thematically-driven Humanities program with coordinated English and History courses. Candidates must embrace a student-centered, skills-based pedagogy and possess strong collaborative skills. The ability to integrate academic writing into all aspects of teaching is essential, as is the use of appropriate learning technologies. The successful candidate will place a priority on integrating issues of diversity, social equity and global awareness into core and elective courses. BA and prior teaching experience required; advanced degree a plus.

Upper School Math: Full Time
Seeking a full-time mathematics teacher for the Upper School with ability to teach upper level math courses including calculus and college level electives. Candidates must be informed about the Integrated Math curriculum and be able to teach in this context. Candidates must also embrace a student-centered, skills-based pedagogy and possess strong collaborative skills. The successful candidate will be able to use math as a springboard for higher-level critical and creative thinking and will embrace the use of new technologies as a tool for learning. Advancement Services Manager
Office of Institutional Advancement
The Advancement Services Manager at Morristown-Beard School plays an integral role in the overall success of the Office of Institutional Advancement. This individual supports all Advancement functions, including activities and events related to fundraising, constituent relations, and marketing and communications. The position’s responsibilities include gift processing, reporting, and acknowledgement; database management (data integrity and security); and report production (targeted lists for prospecting, solicitation appeals, and event invitations, fundraising progress reports, and other related information). With the utmost attention to detail, timeliness, and quality, the Advancement Services Manager is fully accountable for the accuracy and completeness of the database and all outputs that emanate from it.

Position requirements include:

  • Advanced knowledge and mastery of Raiser’s Edge software as well as other related fundraising software used for gift processing, reporting, and analysis.
  • Advanced computer skills (especially using Microsoft Office platforms, including Excel).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work in a professional manner with a variety of supervisors, colleagues, and School volunteers.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, coupled with the ability to meet appropriate deadlines.
