Engineering and Design: Full-Time
Seeking an engineering design/makerspace educator for Fall, 2019, to teach and support teachers in a forward-thinking, student-centered academic program. Three course load in design and/or engineering, as well as supervision of the school’s new makerspace. The candidate should be comfortable working with middle school students, upper school students, and faculty. He or she will also be available to support the school’s two-week Summer Institute. The successful candidate will embrace the makerspace as venue for critical problem solving and creativity, through a set of classes run from the space, as well as for classes across disciplines and independent student work. Relevant degree, thorough familiarity with makerspace technology (i.e. lasercutter, 3d printer, CAD software), and previous teaching experience required. Above all, we are seeking candidates able to embrace our School’s academic vision, helping to develop curriculum and teaching according to its core tenets.

Upper School History: Full Time
Seeking a full-time History teacher for the Upper School who can teach in a thematically-driven Humanities program with coordinated English and History courses. Candidates must embrace a student-centered, skills-based pedagogy and possess strong collaborative skills. The ability to integrate academic writing into all aspects of teaching is essential, as is the use of appropriate learning technologies. The successful candidate will place a priority on integrating issues of diversity, social equity and global awareness into core and elective courses. BA and prior teaching experience required; advanced degree a plus.

College Counselor: Full Time
Seeking a College Counselor to add to an already well-established office in guiding a class of approximately 110 students through the college search and application process and developing enhancements to the program. The College Counselor will be responsible for working closely with families in a school culture emphasizing student engagement and the development of a 21st century skills-based curriculum. The ability to advocate for the School's vision is an essential part of the position.
The ideal candidate will have college counseling experience at the secondary level and/or admission experience at a selective college or university. Candidates must speak and write clearly and well, possess strong organizational skills and a desire to work collaboratively with other members of the school community. The College Counselor will participate in the life of the school and may also serve as an advisor, teacher or coach, depending on relevant experience. This 12-month position will begin July 1, 2019. Salary is commensurate with experience.
