Middle School Leadership in Action
Ten Morristown Beard School Middle School students attended Gill St. Bernard’s 7th Annual Middle School Leadership Summit on Saturday, October 24. Centered on the theme “One day. New connections. Bigger perspectives,” the summit brought students together for a day of group activities and meaningful dialogue designed to help them grow as authentic leaders within their communities.
Students had the opportunity to connect with peers, exchange ideas, and consider what it means to lead with purpose. Through collaborative activities and thoughtful conversations, they explored leadership as more than simply taking charge. They discovered it also means listening to others, learning from different perspectives, working together, and recognizing the positive impact individuals can have on the people around them.
Experiences like the Leadership Summit encourage students to step outside their everyday routines, build new relationships, and reflect on how they can contribute to their school communities. By engaging with students from other schools, MBS participants had the opportunity to broaden their perspectives while continuing to develop the confidence and skills to lead authentically.
We are proud of our students for taking the initiative to continue growing as leaders within the Morristown Beard community. The students were accompanied by faculty members Cynthia Bennett and Allyson McElduff, who supported them throughout the day.
