An integral part of the Morristown Beard School community for 39 years, Eddie Franz P'08, '13 was far more than a teacher and coach. As a beloved history teacher, counselor, and mentor, he shaped generations of students with his steady guidance, compassion, and unwavering belief in their potential. Known for his ability to connect with every student he encountered, he built relationships rooted in trust, respect, and encouragement, leaving a lasting impression well beyond the classroom and playing field.

Throughout his distinguished career, Coach Franz dedicated himself to developing not only skilled athletes, but thoughtful, resilient young people. His teams were defined by discipline, unity, and a shared sense of purpose, reflecting his emphasis on teamwork, accountability, and pride in representing MBS. He believed deeply that athletics were an extension of character, and he challenged his players to lead with integrity in all aspects of their lives.
