Ria Shah '23 Selected to Participate in Governor's School

Congratulations to MBS junior Ria Shah ’23, who was selected to participate in the prestigious Governor’s School of Engineering & Technology program this summer hosted by the Rutgers University School of Engineering.

The highly competitive, tuition-free, residential program is offered to gifted and talented students in the summer between their junior and senior years. Participants will be immersed in a comprehensive, challenging and intensive program.

As part of the program, Ria will be taking four academic classes, completing a group research and/or design project, and meeting equally talented peers and professionals from across the state. The program begins on June 26 and will conclude on July 22 with the Governor’s School Research Symposium.

“I’m super excited to be selected for the program and am really looking forward to meeting and working with everyone this summer,” said Ria, whose interests are in biomedical engineering and biotech.

Ria would like to thank MBS Head of School Liz Morrison, Associate Director of College Counseling Lauren Laskey, and all of her teachers who have supported her tremendously.
