Winter Vocal and String Ensemble Concert Takes Center Stage

The sounds of the season filled Founders Hall on Monday night, December 19 as members of the Middle School String Ensemble, Upper School String Ensemble, and Upper School Chorus performed.

The audience was treated to a range of music – from traditional folk songs and holiday favorites to classical compositions. 

The Middle School String Ensemble, under the direction of David Gold, opened the show with “Silent Night” before joining the Upper School String Ensemble for “Carol of the Bells.” The Upper School performers also played “Invicta,” featuring soloist Sohan Norden ’26.

The Upper School Chorus, under the direction of Ben Krauss, finished the show in impressive style – with selections that included “Dream a Little Dream of Me,” “I Won’t Last a Day Without You,” and holiday songs such as “Carol of the Bells” and “Deck the Halls.”

In all, more than 35 students performed in the concert. Members of the Middle and Upper School String Ensembles included: Norah Aycock, Christopher Blancuzzi, Nicholas Chung, Jack Cueto, Sarah D’mello, Dairelys Espinal, Lilly Espinal, Joseph Geoghan, Alexander Kothari, Roshan Kothari, Mya Leines, Haeden Norden, Sohan Norden, Antonella Ortega, Zubin Pande, Olivier Phanord, Catherine Sheehy, Valerie Vega, and Timothy Wei.

The Upper School Chorus included: Patrick Birnbaum, Kaitlin Brown, Matias Cortes, Salvatore D’Agostino, Henry D’Andrea, Riley Engman, Bridget Ewing, Juliette Joubran, Julia Karosen, Maya LeVasseur, Dylan Mandel, Kassy Patino, Daniel Raimer, Charlotte Sussman, Isabella Villanova, Indiya Weinmann, and Alyssa Wooden.

The stage crew was comprised of Mae Bailey, Abby Ewing, and Jonah Tinkelman. The sound designer was Peter Buchanan.
