Upper School Students Engage in Weekend Diversity Retreat

Last weekend, a group of 21 Upper School students participated in a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) Retreat in Blairstown, NJ. Led by the MBS Office of DEIB, the retreat provided Upper School students with opportunities to engage in ice breakers, workshops surrounding identity, leadership, outdoor exploration, and many fun evening events like a paint night.

The retreat was designed to help students develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the lived experiences of others.

Participants in the overnight retreat included: Zahra Aquil ’24, Hayat Bembry ’24, Alex Carr ’27, Imani Crosby ’26, Yasim Earl ’27, Gendiyah Easterling ’25, Naomi Green ’27, Jed Greer ’27, Raidah Karriem ’25, Ethan Liss ’26, David Mensah ’27, Valerie Myronova ’27, Antonella Ortega ’24, Olivier Phanord ’26, Maria Pimenta ’27, Iyanna Romans ’27, Camille Sergenton ’25, Jawaad Travis ’25, Jenebah Tyler ’25, Gavin White ’26, and Alyssa Wooden ’25.
