Upper School Parents Learn about Winter Sports Season

Upper School parents learned about the upcoming winter sports season from Director of Athletics Joanne Dzama on Monday, November 30th on Zoom before hearing from individual coaches.

Mrs. Dzama began by reviewing the latest information about the winter sports season, including COVID-19 guidelines and protocols, opening dates, transportation and spectator policies, and more.

“For the winter 2020 season, we will start the season with some specific guidelines which will carry over from the fall season. This document, once finalized, will be sent to all families,” said Mrs. Dzama. “ Our winter document will be a bit more intense due to the nature of the sports being played and the various venues we use in the winter.  In short, there will be guidelines and policies set up by MBS and our NJAC conference — these policies are being developed with guidance from the CDC, NJDOE, NJDOH and the NJSIAA.”

Before handing the program off to the team coaches, Mrs. Dzama discussed the mission and philosophy of athletics at MBS, the importance of good sportsmanship, communication, and other logistics.
