Upper School Gardening Club Makes Seed Tape

This week, the Upper School Gardening Club got together during Collaborative Period to make seed tape. Seed tapes are used to save time and space out tiny seeds such as carrots, lettuce, and beets.

The seeds are secured between two strips of tissue paper that dissolve as the seeds germinate, leaving them perfectly spaced.

The MBS Gardening Club made their seed tapes with mint, thyme, chives, and parsley seeds. They hope to plant them in the garden outside of the Math & Science Center in the spring.
