Congratulations to Morristown Beard School alumnus Trevor Baptiste ’14, who will serve as a team captain for the Premier Lacrosse League All-Star Game on Saturday, July 16 at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN.
The captains were picked via fan vote, and they then drafted their teams for the All-Star Game. Baptiste was also selected a team captain in 2019.
Trevor Baptiste is undoubtedly one of the best faceoff specialists the game of lacrosse has ever seen. He was a NCAA Division 1 national champion at the University of Denver in 2015, an NCAA record holder, and still is one the most dominant faceoff specialists in professional lacrosse today. This season, he has won a league-best 72 percent of faceoffs and also leads the league in groundballs.
In the summer of 2018, Baptiste helped lead the United States men's lacrosse team to its first world title since 2010 as Team USA captured the championship following a thrilling 9-8 over Canada in Israel. Baptiste was selected as the first overall pick in the Major League Lacrosse Draft by the Boston Cannons in 2018, earned All-America honors and was named Big East Midfielder of the Year for a fourth consecutive season. A Senior CLASS Award finalist, Trevor led the Denver Pioneers to the team's fifth straight Big East regular season title.
At MBS, Trevor was a First Team All-State selection for lacrosse during his senior season, winning 80 percent on faceoffs while also collecting 42 goals and 22 assists. The Crimson finished the season with a 19-3 record and were ranked 17th in the state.
He was inducted into the Morristown Beard School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2019.
