Tony Award Nominee Gregg Edelman Serving as Assistant Director for Fall Play

This fall, MBS is fortunate to have Broadway actor and multiple Tony® Award nominee Gregg Edelman serving as Assistant Director for the Upper School play, The Miser by Moliere.  Mr. Edelman will assist the show’s director, Nick Corley, who is also currently serving as associate director for a one-woman off-Broadway show starring Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell.

"The Miser is a challenging play, but the students are really stepping up and doing a great job,” said Edelman. “I’m happy to be here and to have an opportunity to work with them.”

Edelman earned a Tony® nomination for his portrayal of Edward Rutledge in the 1998 revival of 1776, and garnered another for his dual role in the 2002 revival of Sondheim’s Into the Woods, in which he played both the Wolf and Cinderella’s prince. He has also received Tony® nominations for his roles in City of Angels and Anna Karenina.

He first made his mark on Broadway as Cliff in the 1987 revival of Cabaret. Since then, he’s had a host of other leading roles including Wonderful TownA Tale of Two Cities and The Mystery of Edwin Drood.  His film and television credits include Spiderman 2Little Children, and Crimes and Misdemeanors.

The Miser will be staged in Founders Hall from Wednesday, November 10 –  Saturday, November 13.
