Three Morristown-Beard Athletes Sign with Division I Schools

Congratulations to Morristown-Beard School seniors Dominick Commesso ’20 (Fordham University – Soccer), Patrick Coyne ’20 (Lehigh University – Baseball), and Ashleigh Scully ’20 (Texas Christian University – Equestrian), who signed Letters of Intent on Wednesday, November 13th to continue their athletics on the Division I level next year.

Dominick Commesso — scored 7 goals and tallied 8 assists this past season to help lead the MBS boys soccer team to a 14-8 record and the NJAC Independence Division title. He was a four-year varsity player and team captain during his junior and a senior seasons. As a senior, he was 2nd Team All-County and 1st Team All-Conference. He finished his MBS varsity soccer career with 23 goals.

Patrick Coyne — played third base for the Crimson last season, hitting .353 with 26 hits and 9 extra-base hits.  He also had 20 runs batted in and scored 13 runs. As a junior, he was named First Team All-Prep B and First Team All-NJAC Liberty Division as an infielder. In each of Patrick’s varsity seasons on the MBS baseball team, the Crimson have earned the Team Academic Excellence Award  from the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Ashleigh Scully — trains with Stacia Madden at Beacon Hill Stables, and qualified and competed in three national equitation championships this year. She qualified for the USEF Talent Search Finals at the U.S. Equestrian Federation Headquarters in Gladstone; the USEF Medal Finals in Harrisburg, PA; and the ASPCA Maclay Finals in Lexington, KY where she finished in the top 30 out of 180 riders. Her 2019 high scores include a 91 in Lake Placid and an 88 at the USEF Talent Search. At the Year-End Equitation Awards, she won 3rd place for Horse of the Year.
