"The Laramie Project" Takes Center Stage in Founders Hall

The Morristown-Beard Upper School fall play, The Laramie Project, takes center stage from Wednesday, November 6 through Saturday, November 9 in the Theater at Founders Hall.  The play is being directed by Broadway actor and director, and MBS Artist-in-Residence, Nick Corley.

In November 1998, 10 New Yorkers traveled to Laramie, Wyoming, to explore a crime and a town. The result was this play, The Laramie Project, a work of hope, hate, fear and courage: a true American story. Time Magazine called the play “a pioneering work and a powerful stage event,” while New York Magazine hailed it as “nothing short of stunning. Not to be missed.”

The talented cast includes (in alphabetical order): Kaitlin Blount, Ava Bourneuf, Anika Buch, Sal D’Agostino, Mia Gorczynski, Camryn Hartkern, Sam Kasmin, David Liu, Matt Lohmann, Whitney McDonnell, Bella Porraro, Will Srere, Laila Stipanov, Tate van der Poel, Cooper Weil, Kailyn Williams, and Julia Yermack.

Special thanks to the backstage crew for the show: Sanaah Aslam, Frankie Becchi, Jack Degnan, Matt Ellerthorpe, Rachael Kelson, Nick Lombardi, Henry Miller, Alex Miskewitz, Rachel Monastersky, Haylee Schwind, Nicole Westwood, Katie Yang, and Zach Zimberg.

The Laramie Project will be performed on Wednesday, November 6th, Friday, November 8th, and Saturday, November 9th at 7:30 p.m. There will also be a 3:30 p.m. matinee on Thursday, November 7th. MBS students and faculty/staff are free. All other tickets are $5.  Tickets are available from the MBS Performing Arts Department or at the door.
