Students Recreate Works by Women Artists
Zach Mazouat’s Foundations Digital class recently recreated works by women artists on recycled COVID plexiglass. The completed paintings are now on display in the windows of Anderson Library.
The students began the project by researching artists with some help from Director of Anderson Library Erinn Salge. Some of the artists whose works are being represented include: Mary Cassatt, Frida Kahlo, Judy Chicago, Hilma af Klint, and Tamara de Lempicka.
In all, the students painted 15 panels using acrylic paint. They also provided contextual information about the artist and the style of the art that the piece represents.
Stop by and enjoy!
