Students Participate in Model U.N. Conference in Philadelphia

Last weekend, 22 MBS students participated in this year’s Model U.N. conference in Philadelphia, which focused on “Equitable Globalization.”

The conference specifically examined the Asia-Pacific region to further understand Equitable Globalization, development and global disparities.  This region incorporates a diverse range of nations with different economic capacities, cultures and landscapes, and the students explored what that the disparity in growth means for the region and the world.

This year’s committees and topics included: Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, the Status of Women, Nuclear Suppliers Group, U.N. Development Program, U.N. Environment Program, U.N. Human Right Council, World Trade Organization, and World Health Organization.

Morristown-Beard School participants included: Ava Bourneuf, Anika Buch, Andre Chabra, Maddie Drucker, Tori Fergus, Joseph Geoghan, Caroline Hepp, Sarah Karbachinskiy, Jonathan Kay, Zach Levine, Julian Levy, Matt Liroff, Olivia Mann, Alex Markley, Mira Ramasamy, Jessica Redington, Aaron Rosenberg, Vikalp Sharma, Catie Sheehy, Anahatt Virk, Hannah Williams, and Julia Yermack.  They were accompanied by faculty members Tim Hannigan, Dr. Brian Merry, and Laura Kirschenbaum.
