Students Enjoy Sherlock Holmes Trip to London and Edinburgh

From March 9th through the 15th, 14 Morristown-Beard School students and four faculty chaperones enjoyed touring London and Edinburgh with a special emphasis on Sherlock Holmes and forensics.

In London, the group participated in a forensic science workshop where they learned about fingerprinting and how to piece evidence together. They also took a Jack The Ripper Walk and visited the Sherlock Holmes Museum, an authentic recreation of what Sherlock Holmes’ house would have looked like. They also toured the London Dungeon, a ghoulish place designed to chill the blood while it reproduces the conditions of the Middle Ages.

In Edinburgh, the group took a graveyard tour at night where they saw the tombstones that inspired J.K. Rowling’s characters.  They also visited Edinburgh Castle, a place filled with history, legend, and lore, where they finally got to see the Stone of Destiny.

The students who participated in the trip were: Nicolette Lewis, Nicolas Lombardi, Madeline Sit, Katherine Solecki, Rachael Kelson, Daniel Levine, Katherine Humphrey, Samantha Schornstein, Nicole Westwood, Gianluca Turdorf, Ian O’Brien, Briana Diggs, Dasia Johnson, and Genesis Flores.  They were accompanied by Mr. Augustyniak, Ms. Cannito, Mr. Holbrook, and Mrs. Johnson.
