Students Attend Trans Youth Forum

On Saturday, April 21st, MBS students Briana Diggs '19, Dan Levine '19, Matthew Lindberg '19, and Maddie Sit '19 attended the Trans Youth Forum at New Brunswick High School accompanied by MBS faculty members Kyle Augustyniak (Upper School English), Katie Cannito (Upper School History), and Klarissa Karosen (Upper School History and Director of Diversity & Inclusion).

The theme of this year's 4th annual Forum was "United We Fight, Together We Rise: Empowerment Through Community."

The statewide event was attended by more than 500 people and its LGBTQ+ theme aimed to inform and educate visitors about a number of issues, especially addressing homophobic and transphobic sentiments.

The event included workshops on "Abusive Relationships and Safe Dating in the LGBTQ+," "Sexuality in Comics and Media," "Building Communities Through Action in Local Politics," "Legal and Practical Steps for a Safe School Environment" and more.
