MBS kicked off its spring concert series on Tuesday night, April 30 as the Middle School String Ensemble, the Upper School String Ensemble, and the Upper School Chorus performed in Founders Hall.
More than 40 students were featured in the concert, which began with the Middle School Strings playing Concerto Grosso no. 7, Allegro followed by the Brazilian song “Tico-Tico no Fubá.” Derek Liu ‘30 (violin) and Sohan Norden ‘26 (cello) were both featured in solo performances before the Upper School String Ensemble performed a hit mix by Lady Gaga.
The 10-member Crimson Chords group sang a beautiful version of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” before the entire Upper School Chorus sang a diverse collection of songs including “Wide Open Spaces,” “An Irish Blessing,” “Still I Rise,” and “Homeward Bound.”
