Congratulations to the MBS girls softball team for advancing to the NJSIAA North Jersey, Non-Public B semifinals after a convincing 20-12 win over Newark Academy on the road on June 7. The 6th-seeded Crimson will now play 2nd-seeded Lodi Immaculate on the road on Thursday, June 10 in the semifinal round.
The Crimson (7-12) upset 3rd-seeded Newark Academy in the quarterfinal round behind a 20-run outburst on 19 hits. Junior Lauren Coyne ’22 went 3-for-6 with 4 runs scored and 3 batted in. Junior catcher Kristen Harvett ’22 was 5-for-6 with 3 doubles and 3 runs batted in. Haley Belfiore '22, Gia Becchi '24 and Jessica Sperling '24 all pitched for the Crimson in the win.
