Shongums Capture Legacy Cup with Handball Victory

Seniors who attended MBS Middle School returned to their "Houses" on June 4th to compete alongside current 8th Graders in a special Legacy Cup game of handball.

After 45 minutes of intense competition, the Shongums emerged victorious over the Whippanies, Athenians and Spartans.

This is the seventh year in a row that the seniors and 8th Graders have teamed up for the Legacy Cup competition, and the second straight win for the Shongums.

When students enter 8th Grade at Morristown-Beard School, they are randomly assigned to one of four Houses, which are rooted in the history of The Morristown School and The Beard School. Throughout the year, they square off in a series of races, challenges, and other contests to capture the coveted Challenge Cup, which will be presented on Friday, June 7th at the Moving Up breakfast.
