As part of the 12th Grade Parent Coffee on September 21st, senior parents learned about the alumni networking portal, “MBS Connect,” from Alumni Relations Project Manager Melissa Hedley ’90.
Ms. Hedley explained to parents that MBS Connect allows graduates an opportunity to leverage their professional network and stay in touch with classmates. Since access was given in late spring, 24 members from the Class of 2021 have already registered. Later this semester, all seniors will receive training on MBS Connect as well as LinkedIn. Currently the MBS LinkedIn Group consists of more than 700 members.
“The objective is to expose students to resources that can be beneficial in their quest for Senior Project hosts. Many alumni have already self-selected to host a Senior Project and serve as industry mentors to our graduating seniors,” said Ms. Hedley. “It’s also important to introduce professional networks such as LinkedIn in a capacity that is useful and appropriate for the students as high school seniors and soon-to-be alumni.”
Ms. Hedley invited all seniors and their parents to visit the alumni portal, which is located at https://mbsconnect.net. The Mentoring and Directory pages remain accessible only to seniors and alumni, however the Job Board and Business Board are open to anyone in the MBS community to post opportunities and professional services — and it’s free.
