MBS junior Robert Scrivo ’21, AKA “DJ Lil Ro’,” hasn’t let the pandemic put a damper on his Independent Study in Electronic Dance Music. Despite being off-campus, Scrivo released his third single, “Drop Off,” today.
“When I first started getting into music production a few years back, it all started in my bedroom and has continued there since the start of the pandemic,” he said. “Of course, I miss the beautiful studio in the Center for Innovation & Design (CID) but I love my home setup and working in the comfort of my room.”
While he has everything he needs in his home studio, Scrivo said he is definitely looking forward to returning to campus and utilizing the resources in the CID. “The equipment within the CID Studio is absolutely amazing,” he said. “What I miss most about the CID is being in a sound controlled environment. It truly brings quality of the sound to a much clearer and richer form.”
For his latest single, “Drop Off, Scrivo said “Mr. Finn’s help has taken the song to the next level.” He also said that taking the Digital Graphic Design course with Mr. Finn helped him develop the skills necessary to create artwork for the single as well as a short intro video.
The song is currently available on iTunes, Spotify, and other digital music services.
