Rain Can't Dampen Crimson Spirit at the 31st Annual Kirby Mile

Rain couldn’t dampen the Crimson spirit on Saturday, October 14 as members of the MBS cross country team hit the track for the running of the 31st annual Kirby Mile. Congratulations to junior Nick Troiano ’25, who won the race in a blazing fast time of 4:48, followed by senior Ian Patchett ’24 in 5:11.

Junior Patrick Birnbaum ’25 was third with a stellar time of 5:43.  He was followed by the father-son duo of Alex Turben ’24 and Nicholas Turben, both of whom clocked in under 6:00!

The Kirby Mile is held in memory of alumnus and former Trustee Allan P. Kirby, Jr. ’49, who passed away in 2020. Mr. Kirby was an entrepreneur, well-respected philanthropist, and kind friend of MBS. He was instrumental in the success of Morristown Beard School through his generosity and support, and with very high standards, kept careful watch over his beloved school.
