Rahul Vaidyanathan '29 Wins Middle School Geography Bee

Congratulations to 6th Grader Rahul Vaidyanathan ‘29, who battled hard to win the MBS Middle School Geography Bee Championship on Thursday, January 12. In the final round of the competition, Rahul correctly identified Portugal’s port city of Lisbon to take the title.

Although the National Geographic Society chose to permanently discontinue the national GeoBee, the MBS Middle School felt that it was important to continue the tradition by holding its own competition.

Connor Sullivan ’28 was the runner-up in a very challenging contest that tested students’ knowledge and thinking skills involving physical geography, map skills, demographics and natural resources of the United States and the world at large.

Congratulations to all of the students who qualified to compete as finalists in the competition: Jack Becker ’27, Alex Kothari ’28, Michael Lattarulo ’27, John Lischer ’29, Haeden Norden ’29, Tyler Rosenbaum ’27, Noah Shidlovsky ’28, Connor Sullivan ’28, Rahul Vaidyanathan ’29, and Zach Zweibel ’27.
