Quiz Bowl Team Competes in Johns Hopkins Tournament

The MBS Quiz Bowl Team competed in its second tournament of the year on Saturday, February 13 and enjoyed another successful day. MBS fielded two teams for the tournament, which was hosted by Johns Hopkins University, and qualified for the national tournament for the second year in a row. 

Congratulations to all of the student participants: seniors Tim Schietroma ’21, Matthew Francis-Manshel ’21, Abel Guzman ’21, and Jay Pruitt ’21; juniors Matt Genua ’22, Jacob Tinkelman ’22, and Julia Yermack ’22; and freshmen Ethan Roitman ’24 and Kevin Tone ’24.

Morristown-Beard School’s “A” team went 5-0 in their playoff matches and finished 7th overall as a team.

Individually, Tim Schietroma ’21 finished 9th individually and was 6th overall in the playoffs. Junior Julia Yermack ’22 also had a great day, finishing 17th overall.

The MBS Quiz Bowl Team is also excited to announce that it will host its 2nd annual tournament on campus on Saturday, April 10.  Go Crimson!
