Peter Donahue to Exhibit his Paintings

For Upper School English teacher Peter Donahue, the art studio is a kind of laboratory. His exhibition, "Inquiries and Failures: Recent Works in Oil and Acrylic," will be on display in The Phoebe Stiles King '49 Gallery in the Math & Science Center later this month, with an opening reception planned for Thursday, January 31st from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The exhibition will document his process of tinkering with alternative color gamuts, paint additives, and application techniques. The resulting paintings range from traditional portraiture to abstract expressionism. In celebration of the learning process, Peter will share both "successes" and "failures."

Donahue joined the MBS English Department in 2014 and is a writer himself: his poetry has appeared in online and print journals such as The LyricExit 13, and Verdad. He also blogs about teaching and writing, publishes a webcomic, and is currently working on a novel. He earned a B.A. and an M.A. from Seton Hall University.
