Parents Tour New Center for Innovation & Design

As part of the Parents Association General Meeting on November 7th, MBS faculty members Dr. Owen Boynton, Paul Fisher, and Matt Martino led a tour of the School’s new Center for Innovation & Design (CID).

Parents got a sneak peek at the post-production and music studio, the audio and video studios, the commons area, and the design classrooms where students will be collaborating and engaging in creative projects.

“The CID is a beautiful space and it’s really exciting to have it opening. It’s a place where students will engage in open-ended, meaningful and authentic work,” said Dr. Owen Boynton, Director of the CID. “We envision it as a resource for the entire School and the home for a lot of collaboration and independent work.”

The $2 million CID provides more than 8,000 square feet of flexible space where students will design, build and problem solve as they engage in multidisciplinary projects. The overarching goal of the CID is to create a hub where all students will collaborate and practice critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
