Head of School Liz Morrison thanked the parents for participating in the Crimson Crush gala, noting that the School enjoyed record turn-out.  She also highlighted the School’s reception for newly-accepted students, who were treated to an impressive performance by current MBS students in a packed Founders Hall. “It was like a parade of self-confidence,” said Ms. Morrison.

Ms. Morrison also discussed the psychologist Dr. Becky Kennedy and her philosophy on helping children navigate distress.  “Our job is not to remove distress from our children, but to sit with them, listen, and remind them that they have the agency to work through it,” she said.

Director of DEIB Klarissa Karosen and Associate Director of DEIB Tahj Valentine talked about the School’s recent initiatives and how they are helping all students feel like they belong. They also shared an ice breaker activity that they are doing with all of the students to help build community and a sense of self-awareness.
