Mr. Tousignant's Advisory Volunteers at The Neighborhood House

On Friday, January 20, Mr. Tousignant’s 7th Grade advisory visited The Neighborhood House of Morristown to work with the preschoolers there, assisting teachers by reading books aloud in class, playing games, painting, and participating in other activities.

As part of this longstanding partnership, a different 7th Grade advisory will visit The Neighborhood House each month until the end of the academic year.

This month’s student volunteers were: Leah Auclair ’28, Dairelys Espinal ’28, Jamie Cofer ’28, Sydnie Silverstein ’28, Lilyana Karosen ’28, A.J. Heck ’28, Brennan Dickson ’28, Liam Hong ’28, Will Turben ’28, Ari Kanter ’28, and Connor Sullivan ’28.

Community service is a cornerstone of the Morristown Beard School educational experience, and helps MBS students gain personal satisfaction and self-confidence on their journey to becoming productive and responsible citizens.

The Neighborhood House is a division of Cornerstone Family Programs (formerly Family Service of Morristown).  They strive to build better lives and stronger communities by helping individuals, families, and new immigrants who are confronting economic and other life challenges.  Their programs include pre-school, after-school, summer camp, recreation, tutoring, and parenting education programs.
