Mr. Sturgeon's Advisory Volunteers at The Neighborhood House

As part of the MBS Middle School's continuing effort to connect with the local community and promote literacy, the 7th grade collected bedtime books, pajamas and cocoa for their friends at The Neighborhood House of Morristown Preschool. On Monday, February 13, the items were delivered by students in Mike Sturgeon’s advisory. A great big thank you to all of the MBS families who contributed!

After delivering the gift bags, the MBS students assisted the preschool teachers by reading books aloud in class, playing games, and participating in other activities.

Throughout the year, a different Morristown-Beard School 7th grade advisory visits the Neighborhood House each month. Students who took part in this month's trip were: Michael Blancuzzi ’28, Madison Blount ’28, Julia Covey ’28, Daniel Ewing ’28, Luke Harmaty ’28, Giovanna Lattarulo ’28, Noah Shidlovsky ’28, Allison Spencer ’28, David Thompson ’28, Spencer Traub ’28, Anna Wade ’28, and Alexis Zweibel ’28.

The Neighborhood House is a division of Cornerstone Family Programs (formerly Family Service of Morristown). They strive to build better lives and stronger communities by helping individuals, families, and new immigrants who are confronting economic and other life challenges. Their programs include pre-school, after-school, summer camp, recreation, tutoring, and parenting education programs.
