Middle School Students Sign Up for Fall Clubs

This week, Morristown Beard Middle School students signed up for their fall clubs and activities — and they had a wide variety to choose from!  This year, there are 17 different clubs being offered, including:

Brain Trainer/Mind Benders — Mrs. Sankar

Doodling/Drawing — Mrs. Forte

Nature Photography — Mrs. Zagajeski

Creative Writing — Mrs. Rachel

Fashion Anime — Mrs. Dubeck

Chess Club — Mr. Tousignant

Fantasy Football — Mr. Sturgeon

Walking Club — Mr. Zuck

Origami Club — Dr. Chestnut-Andrews

Quiz Bowl — Mrs. Phelan

Watercolor — Sra. Laviola

Garden Club — Mrs. Swanson

Crochet Club — Ms. Henkel

Stock Market — Mr. Burns

Board Games — Sra. Arroyave

Movie Trailers — Ms. Silvestri

Current Events — Mrs. Kao

Students met in their clubs for the first time on Friday during Period 8. 

In addition, there are four Middle School Student Justice Groups that are offered to students apart from the traditional clubs. These clubs are open to all students:

GLOW (Girls Leadership Outreach and Worth) — Mrs. Phelan
The GLOW club is dedicated to supporting girls and inspiring them. The group also organizes educational forums that promote and understanding of the role of women in society. The group works in conjunction with the Upper School GLOW club.

Kaleidoscope — Mr. Jefferson
Kaleidoscope is a multicultural diversity club that promotes awareness, acceptance, and appreciation of diverse cultures. Students gather to discuss topics surrounding socioeconomics and cultural identity.

Mental Health Matters — Mr. Zuck
Mental Health Matters is a club designed to increase awareness of and reduce stigma around mental health. Mindfulness is an integral component of our educational philosophy and students are encouraged to practice mindful techniques to promote balance, a feel of calm, and reduce anxiety.

Spectrum — Mr. McGrann
Spectrum is a gay-straight alliance club that meets regularly to discuss LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, and intersex) topics, raise awareness and celebrate the community.
