Middle School Stages “Schoolhouse Rock Live!”

The MBS community got a chance to relive all of those catchy educational songs that were a staple of Saturday morning TV in the 1970s! This year's Middle School musical, Schoolhouse Rock Live, Jr., was performed by a large cast of MBS Middle School students on Thursday, May 25th in the Theater at Founders Hall.

Based on the popular Saturday morning animated show by the same name, the show featured songs that were not only memorable but that teach valuable lessons about grammar and American history. Included were such favorites as "A Noun is a Person, Place, or Thing," "Unpack Your Adjectives," "I'm Just a Bill," and "Interjections!"

Schoolhouse Rock Live, Jr. was directed by Studio and Performing Arts Department Chair Dr. Susan Speidel, with choreography and scenic design by MBS Theater Artist in Residence Jim Ruttman. Musical Direction was by Choral Director Ben Krauss.
