This week, Jaimie Bass’s Middle School drawing class has partnered with an “art client,” Associate Director of DEIB Tahj Valentine ’18, to create a collaborative and interactive piece of artwork.
After hearing Mr. Valentine’s vision for the painting, the students have been busy creating a 30x40 inch portrait of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in bold neon colors with text reading, “I Have A Dream.” Each student is working on an individual canvas that will come together to make the final piece.
The painting will be displayed in Mr. Valentine’s office where students and faculty/staff will be able to interact with it anonymously by writing their dreams on a piece of paper and inserting them into a box near the artwork.
