Meyers '23 and Rempell '22 Honored for Sportsmanship

Congratulations to MBS student-athletes Gracie Meyers ’23 and Zachary Rempell ’22, who received the Winter Sportsmanship Awards as part of the Upper School Winter Athletic Celebration in Founders Hall on Friday, March 11.

Gracie (girls ice hockey) and Zachary (boys swimming) were praised by their coaches for their positive attitude, for their exemplary treatment of others, and for their graciousness in winning and losing.

MBS girls ice hockey coach Bruce Driver said that “not a day goes by when you won’t see a big smile on (Gracie Meyers’) face and it’s infectious.”  He continued, saying, “Gracie always shows respect for her coaches, thanking them every day.  After games, she is found extending that respect to the opponent and also to the officials, thanking them for a job well-done. She conducts herself as a model student/athlete and is a wonderful representative of the core values Morristown Beard School strives to instill in its community members.”

MBS swim coach Amber-Sky Green praised Zachary Rempell for being unselfish, positive, and an excellent mentor to the younger athletes. “He was always one of the first athletes to practice, always willing to help, concerned about his teammates, and ready to work hard.  He had an interest in everyone doing well on the team, both in practices and at meets. He was always willing to help out another swimmer when needed.”
