Mennen '19 to Receive Scholarship from Paper Mill Playhouse

Congratulations to MBS senior Lauren Mennen ’19, who will receive the 2019 Mickey McNany Arts Education Scholarship, provided by the Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards Program.  

Named for the late founding director of the Paper Mill Playhouse Theater School, the scholarship is awarded annually to a student who has made significant contributions to their school theater program and who will be pursuing a degree in theater and/or arts education in college.  The scholarships will be presented as part of the Rising Star Awards Ceremony, held at Paper Mill Playhouse, on Tuesday, June 4th.

Lauren has been an active member of the MBS Theater Program throughout Middle and Upper School.  She appeared in 11 productions in Founders Hall, represented MBS at statewide monologue competitions, and served as co-president of Founders Keepers, the Upper School Theater club.  This year, she received the Theater Award at the MBS Academic Awards Assembly, and achieved the rank of Top Senior Thespian as awarded by the Educational Theater Association of American.  She will attend Muhlenberg College in the fall, majoring in theater arts.
