Members of the MBS Green Team rolled up their sleeves and began the year with a planting activity in the School’s Environmental Systems Lab on Wednesday, October 11.
The students planted a variety of seedlings to give away, including Hawaiian strawberries, bottle gourds, some dwarf corn (possibly to grow huitlacoche on), and sensitive mimosa plants.
MBS Green Team is a fun and educational club that helps students learn about the environment and works to make MBS more eco-friendly. Some activities the group is planning for the upcoming school year include an Earth Day event in April, group discussions, and documentary and movie-watching throughout the year. They will also develop ideas on how to make MBS a more eco-conscious community.
The club is led by Sarah Freeman ’25, Isla Johnston ’25, and Shira Radin ’24. Dr. Dennis Evangelista serves as the group’s advisor.
