Members of MBS Community Perform with String Quartet at All-School Meeting

The MBS community enjoyed a lively and fun string quartet performance at All-School Meeting on Friday, April 22 as Performing Arts Department Chair David Gold took the stage with three local professional musicians. They were joined on vocals by senior Zach Taylor ’22 as well as MBS Art & Design Chair Peter Donahue.

The string quartet featured David Gold on viola along with three musicians who were part of the orchestra for the MBS production of Sweeney Todd — Robin Zeh (violin), Paul Woodiel (violin), and Sarah Hewitt-Roth (cello).

In addition to performing pieces by Mozart and Puccini, the quartet played several well-known pop songs including Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” and Kishi Bashi’s arrangement of the Talking Heads’ song “This Must Be the Place” (both featuring Peter Donahue on vocals), as well as The Beatles’ “Eleanor Rigby” (featuring Zach Taylor ’22 on vocals).
