Members of Cross Country Team Support "Laps For Lew"

This week, members of the MBS cross country team hit the track to support the Laps for Lew 5K run/walk fundraiser in memory of MBS alumnus Lew Mitchell ’15, who passed away in 2016 from complications associated with asthma.

The event supports the Lew Mitchell Scholarship for Volunteerism and Leadership and educational initiatives at the Family Assistance Resource Center (FARC) – an organization in Orange for which Lew volunteered his time.

Before members of the cross country team began their 5K, they heard from Lew’s father, MBS Director of Enrollment Management Rob Mitchell, who thanked the group for their efforts and spoke to them about his son. “It’s a blessing that you are honoring his memory,” Mr. Mitchell told the runners.
