Meera Iyer '25 Performs Traditional Indian Dance at Carnegie Hall

Congratulations to MBS sophomore Meera Iyer ’25, who recently performed as part of this year’s All-Indian Dance Festival at Carnegie Hall.  Meera performed a Bharatanatyam dance — one of the oldest classical dance traditions in India.

For Meera, the performance was the culmination of many years of hard work. She has been studying Bharatanatyam dance since the age of 3, and practiced for many months leading up to the Carnegie Hall performance.

At Morristown Beard School, Meera performed a Bharatanatyam dance as part of the School’s inaugural CultureFest in 2021. She has also appeared on the Founders Hall stage in last spring’s Upper School musical, “Sweet Charity,”  as well as the School’s annual dance concert.
