MBS to Hold Special Olympics Fundraiser During Week of April 5 - 9

Since this is the second year that MBS will be unable to play its annual Special Olympics basketball game due to COVID-19, the School will hold a Special Olympics fundraiser from April 5 - 9. MBS parent Buddy Valastro, owner of Carlo’s Bakery, is donating cake pops that will be sold during each lunch period, with all proceeds benefiting the Special Olympics.

The fundraiser is being sponsored by the Community Service Club and the Student Government Association. Two cake pops will be sold for $5.

The fundraising event continues a tradition started in 2014 by MBS graduate Meg Nelligan ’16, whose brother Sean was a dedicated member of the Special Olympics basketball team and a beloved part of the Morristown-Beard community. Sean died unexpectedly in 2019, and the charity event has been held in his memory ever since.
