Congratulations to swimmers Collin Faraher ’23, Isla Johnston ’25, and Will L’Estrange ’25, who represented Morristown Beard School at the Morris County Championships on January 21 and had an outstanding day. Collin and Isla set new School records in the 50-freestyle and 400-freestyle respectively, and despite competing against much larger schools, MBS finished 12th overall for girls and 13th overall for boys.
Sophomore Isla Johnston ’25 finished third overall in the 400-freestyle, setting a new School record with a time of 4:41.20. (The previous mark was 4:44.61). She also placed third overall in the 200-freestyle, finishing in 2:14.46.
Senior Collin Faraher ’23 finished third overall in the 50-freestyle, breaking the School record with a time of 24.26. (The prior School record was 24.48). Collin also took 6th place in the 100-butterfly with a time of 59.40. He will swim at Bates College next year.
Sophomore Will L’Estrange ’25 placed 14th overall in the 100-butterfly with a time of 1:03.79. He also finished 24th in the 50-freestyle (26.87)
