MBS Students Turn Service into Action with Bridges Outreach

On Sunday, April 26, MBS students brought energy, compassion, and teamwork to the Dining Hall, turning it into a space dedicated to service and connection. With a shared goal of supporting neighbors in need, students worked side by side to prepare lunches for Bridges Outreach.

The morning was filled with purpose as volunteers carefully assembled sandwiches and packed meals, demonstrating both efficiency and care in every step. Their efforts extended beyond preparation. Students also took part in the “Bridges Run,” delivering the lunches directly to community members. This hands-on experience deepened their understanding of service and transformed a simple act into a meaningful human connection.

The day highlighted the commitment of three groups:

Sandwich Makers: Abby Borofsky '26 Jake Frohlich '26 Seton Kelly '29 Marilee Vartanian '26

Distribution Team: Abby Borofsky '26 Marilee Vartanian '26

Chaperones: Andrea Deventer P'08 Lori Kretten P'28 Katie Pepper P'15

Together, these students and chaperones exemplified what community service looks like at Morristown Beard School. It is thoughtful, impactful, and rooted in empathy. Opportunities like this go beyond volunteering. They help shape students into engaged citizens who understand the importance of giving back.

It was a day defined not just by what was created, but by the connections made and the values reinforced.
