MBS Students Perform at The Actors Fund Home

A group of Morristown-Beard School's finest singers and actors traveled to The Actors Fund Home in Englewood, New Jersey, on Wednesday, April 10th to perform for the residents.

The Actors Fund Home is an assisted-living facility, operated by the Actors Fund, a nonprofit organization that assists American entertainment and performing arts professionals.  The trip was organized by MBS Theater Program Director, Dr. Susan Speidel, who has worked with the Actors Fund for the past six years to provide various types of programming at the home.  This was the second year in a row that students from MBS have performed for the residents.

Students from the Upper School Musical Theater class performed songs worked on in class and members of the MBS Upper School Chorus sang four selections, ranging from a Renaissance Madrigal to a popular Beach Boys song, under the direction of MBS Choral Director Ben Krauss.  In addition, members of the cast of the recent Upper School production of How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying performed selections from the show, and several students offered monologues prepared throughout the current school year for various festivals and performances.

The students participating were: Vasiliki Amourgianos, Ethan Chestnut-Stein, Camryn Hartkern, Mia Gorzynski, Samuel Kasmin, Matthew Lohmann, Lauren Mennen, Whitney McDonnell, Patrick Merrigan, Molly Michel, Jacob "Coby" Schneider, Rebecca Tone, Nicole Westwood, and Cooper Weil.
