MBS Science Olympiad Team Participates in Regional Competition

This past Friday, the Science Olympiad team at MBS competed in the Regional Competition at UCNJ, marking the School’s first-ever participation in this national event. Led by head coach Sakhi Patel, and head captains Sophia Greller '26 and Sara Tang '27, the 15 dedicated students spent countless hours preparing for 15 challenging events, including Air Trajectory, Astronomy, Disease Detectives, Wind Power, and Optics. Upper School Science teacher, Brad Turner P '26, also provided valuable assistance to the team on competition day.

Their hard work resulted in a 5th-place finish in Optics and a 7th-place finish in Towers. In addition to their impressive placements, the team also demonstrated strong problem-solving skills, teamwork, and perseverance, tackling each event with enthusiasm and commitment.

Science Olympiad is a prestigious national science competition that challenges students to apply their knowledge and problem-solving skills across various scientific disciplines, including physics, biology, chemistry, and engineering.

This year’s competition showcased the team’s outstanding collaboration and drive, setting a strong foundation for the future participation and growth of the Science Olympiad team at MBS.
