Middle School Delegates Shine at Model UN Conference

Big ideas took center stage this weekend as Morristown Beard School’s Middle School delegates stepped into the Model UN (MUN) Conference at The Red Oaks School. Taking on the roles of global leaders, students engaged in thoughtful debate, built consensus, and worked through complex international challenges with confidence and creativity.

Throughout the conference, delegates explored a range of timely and impactful topics, including mitigating population decline in Eastern Europe, education in conflict zones, promoting early childhood development, media manipulation, and the ways climate change can exacerbate conflict. Each student came prepared with research and perspective, contributing meaningfully to discussions that required both critical thinking and collaboration.

From opening sessions to final deliberations, MBS students demonstrated strong public speaking skills, poise, and a willingness to engage with differing viewpoints. Their ability to navigate complex issues and work toward solutions reflected both their preparation and their commitment to global citizenship.

Students who attended the conference were Riley Copeland ’31, Gianna DiCiaccio ’30, Sam Martos ’31, Zara Mittler ’32, Meer Nehra ’32, Dabira Osibajo ’31, Reya Rajan ’32, Michael Rose ’32, and Vihaan Shah ’32.

Congratulations to all participants for representing MBS with excellence.
