MBS Holding Thanksgiving Food Drive Through November 20

Once again, Morristown Beard School will participate in a Thanksgiving Food Drive to collect food items that will be distributed through The Salvation Army of Morristown. The drive is being held from Monday, November 11 to Wednesday, November 20.

We have assigned each grade a specific item to bring in to their advisory:

  • Seniors – Pasta and Pasta Sauces (Canned – NO glass jars!) 
  • Juniors – Flour and Sugar 
  • Sophomores – Baking Mixes (cakes, muffins, breads, brownies, etc.) 
  • Freshmen – Instant Coffee, Ground Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate 
  • Middle School – Cereals and Pancake Mixes Faculty/Staff – Dry Goods such as Rice and Beans
  • Faculty/Staff – Dry Goods such as Rice and Beans

In addition, each advisory is being encouraged to make one complete Thanksgiving Basket consisting of the following:

  • 1 Box/Bag of Stuffing Mix
  • 1 Box/Bag Instant Potatoes
  • 2 cans Cranberry Sauce 
  • 3 Canned Vegetables (such as sweet potatoes, corn, green beans)
  • 2 Cans of Mixed Fruit
  • 1 Can Apple Pie Filling
  • 1 Can Pumpkin Pie Filling
  • 2 Boxes of Instant Pudding
  • 2 Premade Pie Crust
  • 4 Cans of Gravy
  • 1 Box/Bag Biscuit Mix
  • 1 Basket/Container to hold all goods. You can be creative! 
  • We also suggest a $2 donation per individual, which will go towards the purchase of turkeys. 

Food donations and completed baskets should be dropped off in the Middle School Commons on Wednesday, November 20 by 9:00 a.m. Middle School advisors should give money donations to Mrs. Dubeck, 9th grade advisors to Ms. Kirschenbaum, 10th grade to Ms. Hartman, 11th to Dr. Atwater and 12th grade advisors should give money donations to Ms. Deventer, and Faculty/Staff should give money donations to Ms. Platt.
