As part of this week’s Earth Day celebration, the MBS Green Team held an information session in Anderson Library on Friday, April 26 to offer tips for a more sustainable future.
Some of the tips included ways to:
Reduce
Cut down on waste by choosing reusable over disposable items
Reuse
Opt for second-hand or repurposed items whenever possible
Recycle
Properly sort and recycle plastics, paper, metals, and glass
Plant
Plant trees and support local reforestation efforts to restore ecosystems
Conserve
Save water and energy by adopting efficient habits at home and work
Educate
Learn and share knowledge about environmental protection and sustainability
The event was organized by Green Team club leaders Meera Iyer ’25, Isla Johnston ’25, and Shira Radin ’24.
The MBS Green team is a is a fun and educational club that educates students about the environment and works to make MBS more eco-friendly. In addition to the Earth Day event, the group holds discussions, and documentary and educational movie screenings throughout the year.
