Morristown-Beard School recently donated nearly 100 pizzas to Market Street Mission and Morris View Healthcare Center on behalf of the entire student body. The good deed actually resulted from a disappointing situation. This spring, the students earned a School-wide pizza party after MBS parents achieved a 65.8 percent participation rate in the 30-Day Class Challenge. Because the pizza party was no longer possible due to the pandemic, the School chose to donate the pizzas to the local homeless shelter and nursing facility instead.
The donated pizzas were certainly appreciated by both community organizations. On their Facebook page, Market Street Mission wrote, “This past Friday evening, we were able to serve the men in our program and our community guests, and, much to the delight of the men, the pizzas included special toppings! Thank you to the Morristown-Beard School student body for donating these 30 pizzas!”
Special thanks to Pomodoro Pizzeria & Ristorante in Morristown and Lovey’s Pizza & Grill in Morris Plains for delivering the pizzas!
