Founders Hall was filled with cheers as Head of School Liz Morrison delivered an exciting announcement: the MBS Dining Hall will undergo a complete transformation beginning this summer.
Ms. Morrison shared that when the Dining Hall originally opened in 1989, it was a state-of-the-art facility, but has not been touched much since.
The upcoming improvements will include:
- A completely redesigned kitchen
- A refreshed dining space
- A cafe where beverages and snacks will be available all day
- Expanded dishwashing capabilities
The project will be completed in two phases. Phase one, which will begin the Monday after commencement, is expected to be completed in the fall. It will consist of a complete gutting and renovation of the interior space, including a new kitchen and serving areas. Phase two, an expansion of the dining area and the kitchen, will take place next summer.
Although Ms. Morrison noted the Class of 2025 will miss out on the new space, she did promise “a treat in the cafe on me” when they come back to visit.
