Five MBS Debate teams took on the best in the state at the New Jersey Speech and Debate League Championships and all of the competitors showed sharp thinking, quick wit, and confident delivery. Our teams competed in two debate styles, Public Forum and Parliamentary.

In Public Forum, Nanakwasi Adutwum-Addae '27, Alexander Carr '27, Sarah Eilenberg '29, Jude Franco '27, David Mensah '27, and Sophia Skolnick '29, debated the topic "Resolved: The United States federal government should ban corporate acquisition of single-family residences."

In Parliamentary, Elise Karosen '28, Olivia Minoia '28, Valerie Myronova '27, and Zachary Zweibel '27 competed in the Parliamentary style debating topics ranging from the UN security council to student extracurriculars.

Across two days of competition, two of our teams advanced to elimination rounds. Alexander Carr and Jude Franco finished 8th overall in Junior Varsity Public Forum and Valerie Myronova and Zachary Zweibel finished 3rd place in Junior Varsity Parliamentary.
